See What a Useful Home Care Marketing Audit Looks Like

A transparent example of how I turn observations into practical next steps for an agency owner.

Illustrative worked example. This is a demonstration of an audit format for a fictional home care agency. No real agency was tested. The observations below are hypothetical; no rankings, leads, citations, or client results are claimed.

Example agency brief

Imagine an established private-pay agency offering companionship, homemaking, and respite care in a defined local service area. It wants more suitable care inquiries, has an existing WordPress site, and needs to distinguish family inquiries from caregiver applications.

1. Clarify what families can find

Hypothetical observation

The fictional agency uses one broad “Services” page and does not clearly explain which communities it serves.

Suggested action: Review whether separate companionship, homemaking, and respite pages would answer distinct questions. State actual coverage and connect each page to the contact process.

Evidence to collect in a real audit: Current page URLs, headings, service descriptions, and agency confirmation of service coverage.

How to verify completion: Read the published pages on a phone and check that a visitor can identify the service, location fit, and next step.

2. Review the local search foundation

Hypothetical observation

The fictional agency’s website and business listing display different phone numbers, and its service descriptions are inconsistent.

Suggested action: Confirm the correct business details and update the relevant profiles. Review categories, services, hours, and website links using the agency’s actual eligibility and service scope.

Evidence to collect: Listing URLs and dated screenshots of the conflicting details.

How to verify completion: Recheck the published details and track any unresolved changes. A corrected listing is a completed task, not proof of a ranking increase.

3. Make the inquiry path easier

Hypothetical observation

The fictional agency sends families and job applicants to the same long form.

Suggested action: Separate “Ask about care” and “Caregiver careers” paths. Keep the first care inquiry brief and explain when and how the agency will respond.

Evidence to collect: Form fields, mobile screenshots, and intake-team feedback about inquiry quality.

How to verify completion: Check form validation, routing, confirmation messages, and a consented test submission. Measure qualified care inquiries separately from applications.

A sample AI-search test plan

In a real engagement I would agree on the question set and record platform, date, location context, exact prompt, mentions, source links, and factual errors. Example prompts include:

No prompts have been run for this example. An AI answer is a dated observation, not a stable ranking or a complete picture of what families see.
